Two-Tone CDs, Volume 2:
Administrative Hearings

photo of Two-Tone CDs, both

Two-Tone CD Volume 2 is available in either of two packaging options: jewel case or CD album page. The album page is for insertion into a loose-leaf CD album, either one you already have, or the ACEBO Disk Media Album. Both options are shown in the photo to the left. Specify one of these options when ordering.

The Two-Tone technique is a new concept from ACEBO. Each stereo Two-Tone CD contains both source material for you to practice interpreting and a model interpretation of that same material by an expert interpreter. The source material is on the left channel of the CD, and the interpretation is on the right channel. Thus, by using your stereo's balance control, you can hear only the source, only the interpretation, or both.

If your stereo does not have a balance control, you can still use a Two-Tone CD, but you will need stereo headphones: Instead of turning the balance control to the left, you listen to only the left earphone; instead of turning the balance control to the right, you listen to only the right earphone, etc.

When you listen to the interpretation provided, not only are your terminology questions about the passage answered, you also gain valuable insights into the time lag, or décalage employed by an expert interpreter.

Volume 2 of the Two-Tone CD series contains English source material, with a simultaneous interpretation into Spanish by Holly Mikkelson, a nationally and internationally recognized authority on court and community interpreting.

Volume 2 contains passages excerpted from the following types of administrative hearings:
